Awakening

I went to that sacred place to talk with the Earth
I talked and talked and cried and cried.

and then she showed me that glimmer of beauty,
that shining light parting through the clouds.

in that moment I knew there was hope,
I was struck by the heavens in the pit of despair.

I was loved by the world & I loved the world back,
the pain was not gone, but pain doesn't go away,
pain is just the feeling of a new growth,
the feeling of waking up from a nightmare.
